Full Description

Remains of a cairn. A topographic survey of the remains was carried out by Headland Archaeology in 2012 ahead of proposed Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route. The cairn survived as a spread of stone measuring 36m by 11m. Sample excavation on the cairn, which lay directly within the road corridor, was carried out by CFA in 2012. The cairn comprised predominantly a deposit of medium-sized sub-rounded to sub-angular stones. It is likely that the cairn dates from post-improvement agriculture.
