Full Description
Leading lights. One stands on the inner wall of the harbour (NO88NE0029), probably of 19th century date. It is a tall, square-sectioned post from the top of which is bracketed a box-shaped metal lantern with pyramidal roof. The other comprises a box-shaped lantern bracketed from the wall of a former warehouse (NO88NE0304) on the west side of the road. Site visit in 2022 as part of the SCAPE Coastal Zone Assessment Survey noted that the fixed ladder access to the wall mounted light (described in 1997) had been removed.
