Full Description

Pill-boxes and anti-tank blocks, which form part of the Cowie line, in three parts, located within the designed landscape of Ury House Estate (NO88NE0104). There are two Type-22 pill boxes situated on high ground covered the bridge over the Cowie Water. The western of these has double gun-loops and rifle loops flanking the entrance. The eastern is more typical, but its ricochet wall has been partially demolished. There are also two anti-tank blocks in the riverbed. These have the same three grooves for holding rails horizontally to form a roadblock as at NO88NE0088. The western pillbox is flanked on the west by a group of six anti-tank cubes, which unusually have lifting loops of wire set in their tops. There is also a possible weapons pit.
