Full Description

Former flax mill, depicted on OS 2nd edition map. The mill was constructed in the late 19th century, and most of the buildings remain although the northwest range has been removed. A standing building survey was carried out by AOC in 2014 in advance of proposed development. The mill complex was largely constructed in 1883, as evidenced by a datestone on one of the former mill buildings. The complex comprised five main buildings and two ancillary buildings to the northeast. A single storey L-plan cottage was added to the south of the site in the early 20th century. One of the large mill buildings to the northwest was demolished in the 1980s, leaving only the northwest wall.
