Full Description
Farmstead/settement and field system. Over an area of 3ha are the remains of at least eight sub-rectangular stone buildings, five stone-walled enclosures and a kiln. The two best-preserved buildings are a three-compartmented and a two-compartmented building and an adjoining small yard. The OS 1st edition map shows only an enclosure at NO72739196 and a roofless building at NO72669190. Both appear on the OS 2nd edition map which also shows a roofless L-plan structure of two compartments to the west of the enclosure.
