Full Description

Remains of a farmstead investigated as part of a pre-afforestation survey carried out on the Glenavon Estate. Depicted on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps as a U-shaped steading, with a smaller possible farmhouse to the east and a mill dam to the west. Amongst the outbuildings identified in association with the steading was a mill. Few traces of the actual mill building have survived, but the site of the mill pond and the course of the water channel, or lade, which ran between the pond and the mill itself can still be seen. The original buildings appear to survive but with alterations.
