Full Description
Well, depicted on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps. A spring situated on the north bank of the Bervie Water south of Chapelton. All that remains is a wet hollow choked with vegetation at the base of a slope. No stonework is visible. There is no local tradition that this is a holy well, and as the alleged site of St Mary's Chapel is circa 630m to the northwest, it is doubtful if the well is associated.
