Full Description

Remains of a rectangular building and three quarries recorded by a pre-afforestation walkover survey by Headland Archaeology in 2000. The features are located next to a small gully which is bracken covered. The building is defined by a low banks spread to 1.5m wide surrounded by a slight hollow. Two of the quarries are cut into the top edge of the western side of the gully and are circa 6-8 m by 5.5-6 m in size and 1-1.5 m deep. A larger quarry is cut into the eastern side of the gully and is circa 30 m x 10 m with a vertical quarry face. Some stone clearance lies within this larger quarry.
