Full Description

Remains of a longhouse with possible byre (or small enclosure) is in association with enclosure dykes and a lynchetted trackway recorded by Forestry Commission survey in2007. The house sits on a steep-sided crag in a very commanding position. A short distance to the west (NO 7480 8778) is a building platform which may be associated with the longhouse. The buildings predate the farmstead of Brucklaw (NO78NE0015) shown as ruinous on the OS 1st edition map.
