Full Description

Remains of a field system, covering an area circa 120 m by 120 m. Several small fields are delineated by field banks, small lynchets and stone clearance heaps. CFA field survey in 1992 recorded a total of 39 clearance cairns up to 6 m in diameter and 0.5 m high, delimiting at least four cleared and cultivated areas. The system is enclosed by modern cultivation on the south side and a wood on the east side. The northeaster field is clearly defined on the northwest and southwest by a low stony bank, The southwestern side contains a small oval drystone structure measuring 5 m by 4 m, with a central partition. The southeastern area of this field contains poorly preserved traces of rig and furrow, oriented northwest to southeast over an area roughly 50 m by 50 m. Within woodland south of this field are the poorly preserved footings of a rectilinear building 12 m by 3 m. No hut circles were visible.
