Full Description
Parish church, built 1778 on site of earlier church. The medieval church was mentioned in 1275 and 1282 when it was granted patronage to the monks of Arbroath, but there is now no trace of this earlier church. The present 18th century church stands in the centre of the graveyard in which are medieval graveslabs. In the wall of the church is a stone from the old church dated 1678. While repairs were being done to the church in circa 1840, part of a bronze censer (an incense burning pan) was found beneath the floor. Present church is still in use. Garvock Parish Church is a simple, rectangular, Gothic-styled building with a small porch and bellcote. It was built with rubble masonry with ashlar surrounds and quoins. The roof of the nave and porch are slated.

Present church built 1778; stone in wall dated 1678; repairs to church 1840. 17th century tomb of William Greig.
