Full Description

Mansion house, still in use, built in the mid-18th century, with an addition in circa 1790 and another in the mid-19th century. It is shown on the 1st edition OS map as a rectangular building, with a rectangular and a smaller square building within an enclosure to the north. There are four rectangular buildings to the west, and a walled garden to the south. On the 2nd edition OS map the mansion has been extended to the north. There is an additional building to the west, and the larger of the existing rectangular buildings has been extended to a T-plan. Current maps show further alterations to the mansion and the larger building to the west, which is now named 'Gardners Cottage'. All but one of the other buildings have been removed. The mansion is a two-storey and basement harled building with margins. There is a piend roofed addition to the west from circa 1790, and a mid-19th century bay window. A walkover survey (NO66SE0225) was carried out by Arcus in October 2019, prior to the development of a solar farm.
