Full Description

Remains of a line of World War II anti-tank blocks. A single line running along the foreshore from Milton Ness to Tangleha' Cottages and then turning north-northwest is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1954. Many are still visible on more recent aerial coverage. Site visit in 2022 as part of the SCAPE Coastal Zone Assessment Survey recorded that many have been moved to form a line of sea-defences at the top of the beach. Some are buried and others used in the building of the harbour slipway. There is also local knowledge of a gun emplacement also located along the coast at Tangleha, exact location unclear.
