Full Description

Former fishing station, dating from the earlier 19th century, now in residential use. This former salmon fishing station is a rare survival, with ice house, upper and lower bothy, skipper's quarters and net store. The two storey, 4-bay fishing station is built of tooled rubble, whitewashed, with polished margins and long and short quoins. There is an ice house below. The lower bothy is dated 1835, the two chamber ice house is dated 1842. RCAHMS conducted a photographic survey of Rock Hall Fishing Station during May 1999. It has since been converted for use as holiday accommodation.
