Full Description

Warehouse, built on the site of a coastguard station, now in use as fish processing factory. The 1st edition OS map shows a small square building marked as a coastguard station. By the 2nd edition OS map, this has been replaced by a large rectangular warehouse with a small porch on the north corner of the east gable. The warehouse comprises three parallel, single-storey ranges with arched openings. It is constructed of stugged pink ashlar with brick arch rings over the openings. There are eleven arched openings (now blocked) to Foregate, with a door at centre and three loft openings above. Inside there are two rows of six cast-iron columns supporting timber beams. A photographic survey was carried out in 2020 prior to proposed developments.
