Full Description

Former warehouse, now disused, depicted on historic OS maps but with extensive later alterations. It is shown on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps as six rectangular buildings. Current OS maps show one building now covers the whole site, replacing or incorporating the earlier buildings. A Level 1 Standing Building Survey was carried out by Alder Archaeology in September 2017 prior to proposed demolition. The survey recorded that the warehouse building was a large pre-fabricated steel frame warehouse. Little archaeologically significant material remained, however an interior wall at the north-west of the building incorporated the red brick gable end of an adjoining Victorian warehouse that dated to at least the 19th century, possibly earlier.
