Full Description
Rectory built in late 18th century. Two-storey and attic, 3-bay, L-plan house, with stugged sandstone ashlar to the front, lined render to the sides and rear, chamfered margins and a mansard attic storey to the rear wing. An architraved and keystoned entrance is to the centre of the building, with a 9-panel door and rectangular fanlight above. Windows are 4-pane timber sash and case, 8-pane lights to the mansard. The Mansard roof was added circa 1925. A carved inscription on the west wall to the rear carries the inscription, 'IM 1639 M(Y) God is alvyis my suport'. The provenance of this is not known. The slated roof has coped skews, with rendered gablehead stacks to the north, south, east and west. Rubble boundary walls are to the east and south, brick to the west, with rendered ashlar gatepiers to the front with a wrought-iron arch above.
