Full Description

Former Craig Parish church, built in 1799, no longer in ecclesiastical use having been converted into a residential property. It was the earliest Gothic Revival church to be built in Scotland. Rectangular, rubble built (formerly harled), with a slate roof and a 80 ft / 24.4 m high west tower showing transitional detail. It is aisled with an arcaded interior. Within the church is a First World War white marble tablet, and a Second World War granite memorial tablet. A small Gothic style oblong mausoleum, projects from north wall, contained within an iron railing enclosure (NO75NW0109). The former church is set within rectangular boundary walls, with entrance gates (NO75NW0019) in the southwest corner. The former manse (NO75NW0005) is to the northeast.
