Full Description
A clearance cairn stands approximately 10m in the wood from the boundary fence. To the west of this, just inside the fence line, is a large area of, probably, early modern clearance. A few metres further into the wood are the footings of much earlier dykes or structures. One stretch heads east/west with another arcing northwards into the wood under the roots of windblown trees. Neither stretch is very extensive - visible for only a few metres - though either might, obviously, continue further below ground.
