Full Description

Hotel, still in use, built in the late 18th century but completely recast and with large additions by Thomas Martin Cappon (of Dundee) in 1896-97. Outbuildings to the rear are probably early 19th century. It is an asymmetrical building of two and three storeys in an English arts and crafts style, that is harled with tiled roofs. There is small-paned mullioned and transomed fenestration, a Jacobethan open timber porch with semi elliptical arches on baluster shafts. Named on the 1st edition OS map as the Eagle Inn.
