Full Description

Remains of St Catherine's burial ground, and site of chapel as depicted on the OS 1st edition as a rectangular walled enclosure. The burial ground was the graveyard of the Chapel of St.Catherine of Sienna, of which no trace exists and of which no dedicatory date is known. The advowson is on record in 1532 and 1637. The only remaining gravestones (according to research in 1971) bear the date 1739 and 1786. According to the farmer in 1971 only one grave stone remains. The medieval village of Kincardine had deteriorated by 1789 with only a few houses remaining.
