Full Description

Dairy, also known as the Cow Barn, depicted on historic OS maps. Desk based assessment and buildings appraisal was carried out by AOC Archaeology in 2010, and subsequent standing building survey undertaken in November 2016. The 1st and 2nd edition maps show a three-bay building, although it now consists of two bays. Built of stone rubble with a double pitched corrugated-asbestos roof, a small annexe to the northeast side and dressed stonework to the surrounds to the openings and quoins. It has a number of blocked openings and was most recently used as a tractor shed. Internally it is now an open shed with whitewashed stone rubble walls and timber framed roof supported by steel beams. There is a small raised brick and concrete platform and a small brick-built room to the southwest side.
