Full Description

Former watermill, now in agricultural use, built in the mid-19th century. It is first shown on the 1st edition OS map as an L-plan building with a rounded north-west end and a mill lade (see NO66SW0025) at the south-east end. On the 2nd edition OS map the rounded end has been shortened, and the building altered to rectangular. When visited by Hume in 1974, the mill was being used as a cowshed. It is a two-storey, three-bay, rubble-built plain building, which has been re-roofed. The gable wheel has been removed, and replaced by a water turbine with a tall wood-cased surge chamber. The interior has been gutted. It is one of four mills that originally utilised the mill lade. Also known as the Turbine House.
