Full Description

Farmstead, partially in use, depicted on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps. On the 1st edition OS map, a large u-plan steading open to the south east is depicted, with partially infilled or covered courtyard, a rectangular building to the east, 2 buildings to the west and a well to the south. On the 2nd edition OS map, the rectangular building to the east has been enlarged to form an L-plan, and the main steading has been considerably expanded on the west side. Today, part of the main steading has been demolished but others of the early buildings appear to survive. A standing building survey was carried out by Cameron Archaeology om February-March 2020 ahead of proposed development. At least four phases of development of the farm, were identified including a 19th century U-plan farmstead. A walkover survey (NO66SE0225) was carried out by Arcus in October 2019, prior to the development of a solar farm.
