Full Description

Laird's house, dating from the 17th to 18th centuries with 19th century alterations. Harled and whitewashed with margins, slated roof with straight skews, panelled end chimney heads. Two-storey and attic, symmetrical 3-window front with modern open porch. Three canted dormers added circa 1840, additions at rear probably same date. A walled garden is rubble-built with wall partly brick-faced internally. A stone recently uncovered in the house bearing the inscription '16 C E S 12' now forms a lintel over the fireplace.

Period Notes
Original house 16thC. Stone above mantel bears date of 1612. Current house is mid-18thC.
