Full Description
Remains of the precinct wall of Arbroath Abbey (NO64SW0018), as depicted on the OS 1st edition map. A wall remains around the current burial ground within the northern part of the precinct. The 1st edition map shows most of the rest of the extent of wall as 'site of' although along what is now Convent Street it is annotated as remains of, with the site of a gate, Darn Gate (NO64SW0623). Along Stanley Street the course of the wall is shown a little further to the east on current maps.
