Summary

The substantial remains of a kiln barn, 5m x 9m, with a kiln bowl, 3m in diameter and 1.5m high, at its west end, stands on the southwest boundary dyke of Ballochan.

Full Description

The substantial remains of a kiln barn, 5m x 9m, with a kiln bowl, 3m in diameter and 1.5m high, at its west end, stands on the southwest boundary dyke of Ballochan. On the north side of the kiln there are the remains of a rectangular stone building 5m x 7m, with its buttressed north gable surviving 2m high. There are also the robbed footings of a second building abutting this gable. The kiln barn and adjacent building are depicted as roofed on the OS map of 1865.
