Full Description

Remains of buildings and field system with stone clearance heaps. Pre-afforestation survey by Headland Archaeology in 1999 record the remains of six buildings. Close to the burn are the low footings of a rectangular turf and stone building 5 m by 3 m, the structure largely defined by the internal hollow, 0.3 m deep. Further east (over 100 m) was a cluster of five buildings on a dry knoll. Three are rectangular stone and turf wall footings forming an east-west line and ranging in size from 4 m by 3 m to 10 m by 4.5 m with a turf bank attached on the north side. To the south is another rectangular stone and turf footing 5 m by 3 m, and to the east of this a circular stone structure 2.5 m in diameter.
