Full Description

House, formerly in use as a guest house, built in the late 19th century. It is a two-storey, four-bay, gabled cottage-style house constructed from tooled, coursed, ladder-snecked granite that is finely finished to the margins, with bipartite windows, overhanging eaves and two-pane timber sash and case windows. The purple-grey slate roof has a decorative terracotta ridge, coped granite ridge and gablehead stacks with circular cans and cast-iron rainwater goods. The principal south elevation has a square entrance tower advanced to the penultimate bay to the west, with a window to the ground and first floors, a panelled timber door to the east return with a letterbox fanlight and a window to the first floor above. At the outer west is a gabled bay with a rectangular-plan five-light window through the ground and first floors and a plate glass door to the centre of the bay at the ground floor. There is a tripartite window to the ground floor of the penultimate bay to the east with a geometric timber balcony above between the ground and first floors and one gabled window and one window breaking the eaves with a cat-slide roof to the first floor. At the outer east is a canted ground floor window and a gabled window breaking the eaves to the first floor. There is a pebbled wall with rubble coping to the south-west and a low flat-coped wall with geometric timber railings to the south. To the south-east is a coursed granite wall with ladder snecking and square-plan, rough-faced gatepiers with semi-spherical caps and decorative ironwork gates.
