Full Description

Farmstead, still in use, depicted on historic OS maps. The 1st edition shows a group of buildings including T-plan range, an L-plan range, rectangular building to the north and house with garden to the south containing a sundial. To the west is a pond with lade leading to the rear of the L-plan range, presumably a mill. Most of these buildings remain on the 2nd edition, although the northernmost rectangular building has been removed. Current maps indicate that the L-plan range has been removed, the T-plan range further altered and extended with a new range on the north side. The pond appears to have been infilled although the lade remains a watercourse. House no longer occupied and steading in state of disrepair. A building survey was carried out by MAS in January 2016 ahead of proposed development. The steading is of rubble stone with slate roofs. The east range formerly contained a threshing mill, probably inserted when this building replaced the water mill. The farmhouse is of harled stonework with slate roof.
