Full Description

Road bridge, still in use, built in circa 1801 by Alex Sherriffs of Tullich on the site of an earlier bridge that was swept away in 1799 in a flood. A temporary wooden bridge was constructed until the current bridge was built. It is a single-span, segmental-arched bridge over Burn of Birse, and is constructed from granite rubble with a keystoned rubble arch-ring, rubble coping and swept-down splayed wing walls.

Listed 30/03/2000. Built in circa 1801 to replace an earlier bridge that was swept away in 1799.
