On a northeast-southwest aligned ridge 800m west of Balhall Lodge there are the remains of at least ten probably prehistoric fields defined by linear banks measuring up to 85m long and set about 20m apart. The banks share the area with forty-nine small cairns up to 5m diameter and a small rectangular building and length of thicker bank overlie the earlier banks.
