Full Description
Gatepiers probably dating to circa 1711. A pair of tall gate piers on a section of avenue no longer in use, leading from Brechin Castle Kennels Gate Lodge to the west frontage of the Castle, shown on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps. The gatepiers are in a Greek cross plan, pilastered west and east, are fluted, banded and have an egg and dart echinus pattern. Set within the designed landscape (NO55NE0005) around Brechin Castle (NO55NE0040).
