Farmstead, still in use, depicted on historic OS maps. The OS 1st edition shows an E-plan steading, the courts open to the southeast, with a rectangular building to the west, small structure to the south and house with attached garden to the south. By the time of the 2nd edition the steading had been extended, including infilling of the former courts. The building to the west had also been enlarged. Southwest of the steading is a sheepwash. Current maps indicate the smallest structure and the sheepwash have been removed. A standing building survey of the steadings was carried out by Cameron Archaeology in March 2016 ahead of proposed development. It recorded three phases of development of the farmstead which was probably built in the early 19th century, possibly using stone from the nearby demolished Fuirdstone Castle (NO55NW0023). Northwest of the steading is a later building, which looks as though it may be a World War II military structure although there is no information regarding its origin.
