Full Description
Manse, still in use. It is a two-storey building dating from the 18th century, with modern additions. There are also attached stables. Trial trenches were excavated to the North and North-West in 1998 by CFA as part of the A92 upgrade works. A number of pottery, glass and other small finds were retrieved (medieval), associated with a series of ditches which are presumed to represent medieval enclosures. In November and December 2009, an archaeological watching brief was carried out by AOC at this site during groundworks associated with a residential re-development of the manse. Whilst a small number of truncated features and a small assemblage of unstratified medieval pottery was recovered, no diagnostically significant in-situ archaeological features were encountered during the watching brief.
