Full Description
Former offices/steading and site of a mansion house and grounds depicted on historic OS maps. The 1st and 2nd edition maps show the house set in partly wooded grounds, the offices comprising a C-plan steading to the northwest of the house. The house was built in 1792 for Major William Philips, and was demolished following a fire in the 1950s. Much of the grounds is now a public park, and part is occupied by Woodlands Primary School. See NO53NE0180 for former lodge.
