Full Description

Hall, built as a Free Church school. The building was originally an L-plan structure, open to the north east, depicted on the 1st edition OS map as a school. By the 2nd edition OS map it is labelled 'Hall'. It may at this time have been used as the hall for the former church which stood adjacent to the east, but latterly has been used as the church hall for Carnoustie Church, which stands on the opposite side of Dundee Road (NO53SE0083). The building has been extended to the south. It is harled with a slate roof, with multi-pane arch-headed windows in the north elevation and north gable, and circular vent in north gable. Arch-headed fanlight over 4-panel timber entrance door on north porch. Rectangular multi-pane sash and case windows to west elevation and west gable, brick chimney stack with a pair of cream clay chimney pots to west gable. Cast iron rainwater goods. A photographic survey was carried out in May 2025, prior to the building's change of use.
