Full Description
Remains of a drystone wall enclosure recorded by Ogston at NO 4170 9925, measuring 80ft by 75ft, without internal scooping. It has an entrance 18 feet wide in its northeast side. One large and three small cairns were seen within 250 yards of the enclosure. RCAHMS field visit 1967 found no trace of an enclosure in the area indicated by Ogston, but at NO 4155 9926 on a grassy shelf at circa 900ft OD, there were the vague stone footings of an enclosure, possibly a hut circle, measuring 11.0m north-south by 8.5m east-west, and 0.5m maximum height. The entrance is in the northeast. Two small clearance heaps lie close to the enclosure but no fields are discernible.
