Full Description

Minor field system comprising circa 15 small stone clearance heaps, recorded by Ogston in 1931. No trace of hut circles, walling or field banks. Over 30 cairns are depicted on the OS 1st edition map. Site visit in 1957 (Graham) identified only nine cairns with certainty, but also noted at least one hut circle 20 ft (circa 6.1 m) in diameter overall, and traces of some enclosure boundaries. Six of the cairns were grouped in association with the hut circle and two lengths of walling, the latter composed partly of large boulders and partly of a stony rickle of slighter construction.
