Full Description
Former railway station and site of a public-house. The 1st edition OS map depicts the station platform, two signal posts and a T-plan public-house. By the time of the 2nd edition OS map the station building, Station House and two signal boxes are shown, with the public-house no longer shown. The station was opened by the Aboyne and Braemar Railway in 1866. Originally a single-platform through station with a U-plan harled-brick single storey platform building, later two-platform with a passing loop. Closed with Beeching cuts in the 1960s. The station building remains in use as an estate office.
