Full Description
Remains of an dovecot, associated with Murroes House (NO43NE0010). The circular dovecot was built in the early-17th century, and stands to the north-east of the house. Thick-walled rubble sandstone construction, roofless. Entrance door at east side. Stone nesting boxes intact. The dovecot is mentioned by Ochterlony in circa 1682 and is probably contemporary with Murroes House. There is a large rectangular rubble-built livestock pen to the north of the dovecot.
