Full Description
Depopulated settlement comprising the remains of 15 buildings, including at least seven longhouses. The remains are shown on current OS maps but do not appear on the OS 1st or 2nd edition maps. Recorded by Scotland's Rural Past project in May 2015. Most of the buildings are on natural bluffs or platforms, with some terraced into the hillside. All are built of undressed field stones and have rounded corners. Few are now more than two courses high. The survey concluded that most are probably shieling huts.
