Full Description
House, now in commercial use, built in the mid 19th century with 20th century alterations. It is an unusual, asymmetrical two-storey and attic house facing the main square in Ballater, with a prominent wallhead stack to the west (street) elevation. The building is constructed from pink granite rubble, and has irregular fenestration with four-pane timber sash and case windows to the first floor and late 20th century timber windows and doors to ground. The roof is of grey graded slate. The original floor plan is largely extant on the upper floors, and the ground floor has been extensively modernised.
