Full Description
Fragmentary traces of the footings of a rectangular building, said to have been a chapel, stand to the west of Chapelton Farm (NJ05NW0161). The foundations were still visible in 1882 and 1908, but by 1924 only traces of the enclosure walls were said to be visible. When visited by the OS in 1963, fragmentary traces of the footings of a rectangular building were visible, circa 15 m by circa 7 m and standing to circa 0.2 m high. It is thought to have been dedicated to St Leonard. No further information.
