Remains of a township, comprising 24 buildings, a corn-drying kiln, several enclosures and two head-dykes. Recorded by RCAHMS survey of Glen Clova in 1999. Two periods of occupation are represented by the two phases of head dyke that cross at NO 3021 7486, and two types of building construction, round-ended and square-ended which are generally in discrete groups, the former in the two easternmost clusters. These round ended buildings tend to be larger than the square-ended, ranging from 5m to 14m long, and up to 3.9m wide over grass-grown footings up to 0.3m high, The corn-drying kilns is set into a slope circa 30m west of the central cluster, its bowl 2m in diameter within rubble walls up to 1.8m high , with a flue on the south-southwest. Walkover survey in 2021 ahead of proposed woodland creation (NO37SW0150) noted that the centre of the westernmost concentration had been planted with conifers, but buildings were recorded around the perimeter of the plantation. Only five buildings (both round and square ended) were observed, along with a stretch of walling and head dyke. An irregular quarry scoop was recorded at NO2995874858, measuring circa 6m by 6m and circa 1.2m deep.
