Full Description

Hut-circle recorded by RCAHMS survey in Glen Clova in 1999. It measures 15m in diameter over a stony bank 1.7m wide and 0.3m high, with an entrance on the southeast. The site is immediately north of the findspot of a Late Bronze Age hoard (NO37SW0005), a small hollow about 3m across may mark the site. Walkover survey in 2021 ahead of proposed woodland creation (NO37SW0151) recorded low earthen banks of the circle, measuring 10mm across, but whilst it has the appearance of a hut circle the presence in the vicinity of various phases of sheepfolds and enclosures also suggests the possibility of its use for corralling animals.
