Full Description

Remains of seven ruined buildings and an enclosure were recorded by Headland Archaeology during a survey of the Balnaboth Estate in 1998. All but one of the buildings lie on a small terrace between 10m and 70m from the road. They range in size from 7-10m in length and 3-4m in width over turf-covered stony banks standing up to 0.5m in height. All are aligned from northwest-southeast. The building below the terrace has been clipped by the road side ditch on the north-west. Two of the buildings are situated between a track and the leading edge of the terrace. On the slope to the west of the track there are two buildings linked by the remains of an enclosure as well as two other buildings.
