Full Description
Remains of a sheepfold/sheep ree which is shown on the OS maps from the 1st edition OS map (1865) onwards. Recorded by Headland Archaeology during a survey of the Balnaboth Estate in 1998 as a ruined sub-rectangular drystone enclosure 17m x 20m. Its wall is partly collapsed but better preserved upslope. The entrance is at the north-west corner. A secondary stone shelter is built against the inside of the west wall. It is rectangular, 2m x 3m and up to 1.4m high. The shelter is open towards the south.
