Full Description

Remains of a hut-circle, footings of a sub-rectangular building and three cairns were recorded by Headland Archaeology during a survey of the Balnaboth Estate. The hut-circle appears as a depression, 8m in diameter, encircled by a low bank spread up to 8m in width. The entrance may lie in the south-east whilst there is a low mound in the centre of the hut-circle. The subrectangular building lies to the south-east. It measures 6m x 3m over low banks spread to 1m in width.The three turf-covered small cairns lie to the south. Two of the cairns measure 4m in diameter and the third measures 5m in diameter. They stand up to 0.2m, 0.3m and 0.4m in height.
