Full Description

Cottage, still in use, built in the late-18th or early-19th century. It is shown on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps as an L-plan building, oriented northwest/southeast, with a wing at the southeast end projecting northeast. On the OS 2nd edition map the property is shown as a Post Office. There have since been two more wings, probably modern, added to the rear northeast elevation, one central and one at the northwestern end. Both are the same length as the original wing. The new wings have piended roofs, whereas the original building has gables to the northwest end of the main wing, and at the northeast end of the smaller wing. The single-storey cottage is constructed from whitewashed rubble. The southwest elevation facing the road has four bays, with an off-centre doorway. The roofs are slate, and there are ridge stacks.

Period Notes
Built in the late-18th or early-19th century, with later rear wings, probably modern. Listed on 15/01/1980.
